Strangers-PenDen-Fountain-Pen-Restoration-and-Sales

So. It has been a very busy time for us at the PenDen.

Sharon was “hubmaster” for the Pelikan Hub Cloverdale in October. It was small (but mighty) event by most Pelikan standards, held at a Langley, BC restaurant (Pasta Polo), and the food and space were perfect!

A few weeks prior to the Hub, we had stopped for lunch at Pasta Polo, just to check out the venue, and had the opportunity to meet the manager and his wife. A beautiful couple of Persian descent, with all the grace and charm that seems inherent in such people. We were told of Manager Hossein’s love of a Parker “51”, and we were fortunate enough to gift him one for his hospitality in welcoming us to the restaurant.

Our friends were wonderful at both the Hub and our monthly pen meet at the Legion in Cloverdale. This past meeting, Sharon picked up a lot of beautiful pencils and travelling ink pots. I managed to curb myself from adding to my workload with more pens that I love but do not need(!!!). Sharon is still muttering about one item she left unpurchased that she now ‘has to have’.

Sharon has been slavishly dedicated to this website: photographing, editing and publishing. And I hope you all appreciate it! I have been repairing and restoring, and generally underfoot as Sharon ensures everything gets done despite my nonsense. This missive is actually one of the tasks that I have managed to avoid for some time.

I cannot say how much I appreciate all the people that have befriended me through this hobby. It is an amazing bunch of truly lovely people and, even though we may have not yet met, I am certain this includes the readers of this little rambling blog.

As I grow, I continue to be grateful for such people, and my life is all the more rich for it. Our country is stronger and more beautiful when we welcome the stranger.
